The Moon is Made of Green Chilis

This quilt was made in honor of New Mexico's one hundred years of statehood. The theme is "Stars Over New Mexico" and my title is "The Moon is Made of Green Chilis". The patches are all the counties in the state of New Mexico and the stars and moon are appliqued chilis representing our state question, "Red or Green?"

Landscape Drawing Class

I am approaching the half way point of my second drawing class and haven't posted any drawings from the summer landscape class. We visited many sites for our drawing projects. Fellow students were a really fun group of people. Lots of interaction and support of each other. The individual styles were really varied and fun to observe.

My personal challenge was drawing rocks. I just could not seem to grasp the concept no matter how hard I tried. Water was another challenge. Trees I could do and enjoyed. This summer giant yuccas were blooming all over town and I had one in my back yard. I really enjoyed drawing it and used it for my final project.
